Deckers Creekconstruction of a weather shelter near mile 18.5 of the Deckers Creek Rail-TrailWhat is the Project: This weather shelter will provide a place to relax on good weather days and provide shelter from storms when needed. This shelter will model the other weather shelters on the rail-trail and is designed to fit the space while providing room for seating for at least 10 trail users. He will be using a new type of lumber that costs more but should hold up better to site conditions- prime ground contact premium pressure-treated lumber. What will the volunteers do: 20 volunteers will be involved with a total of 300 hours of labor to build a weather shelter. Tyler has calculated his hours of coordinating with MRTC, determining a location, scouting the site, inspecting other shelters, and sketching a design to total 24 hours.
