There are numerous cracks in the section of trail from the Riverton Bridge to McKeesport as well as some root bumps and cracks along other sections of the trail.

SVTC will repair approximately 40 cracks in the McKeesport RIDC section of the trail. About ten cracks have been previously repaired by a MYTC volunteer. These repairs have deteriorated. These cracks will require the sawing of the original trail surface asphalt and the removal of the asphalt as well as the deteriorating cold patch material. The other 30 cracks need vegetation and dirt removed and then filled with cold patch. All these repairs require compaction of the plate tamper. Also, several roots are creating bumps along the trail that need to be cut out and new fill material tamped into place.
