Expand the Bean parking lot

What is the Project:

The project is the parking lot at Bean’s Trailhead on ERNST TRAIL in Meadville, PA. Bean’s is the primary and most used trailhead on the trail.

ERNST TRAIL recently expanded to 12 miles connecting the city of Meadville to the town of Conneaut Lake. The parking at Bean’s trailhead has become congested and problematic. A local farmer volunteered his equipment and time to clear an additional area to enlarge the lot. We now need to complete the lot with a gravel topcoat to keep mud/dust at a minimum. We also need to delineate parking spots to maximize use of the space.

What will the volunteers do: Volunteer manual labor will install fencing and parking stops. Estimated to require 48 manhours. Final spreading/leveling of the gravel surface will be done by a local farmer who will volunteer his time and machinery. Estimated to require 4 hours of an operator and grading machinery.

What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide: Material items we are asking the fund to provide are - 1 - 125 ft of split rail fence 2 - 30 rubber parking stops 3 - gravel or millings covering to complete lot
