purchase two commercial-grade chainsaws, blower, and contcrete pad

What is the Project: The request is to purchase two commercial-grade chainsaws to remove fallen trees from the trail, trim tree limbs as needed, and a blower to clear debris from the trail surface. Commercial-grade equipment will have a longer life span, and with proper maintenance, it should last for years to come. A concrete pad is needed to store the recently purchased backhoe for cleaning out ditches, removing landslides on the trail, and other tasks.

What will the volunteers do: Volunteers provide day-to-day maintenance on the AVTA trails. The maintenance equipment purchased with funding through the “Trail Volunteer Fund” will assist the volunteers in performing their tasks and will only be used by volunteers. Volunteers using the chainsaws will be trained and experienced with tree removal and chainsaw safety. Volunteers will also prepare for the concrete pad, which includes grubbing and removing debris, grading and raking the area, and preparing the form for the purchased concrete to be poured. Volunteers will also be on hand to assist with the leveling, adding covering to protect the pad until cured to help prevent excess moisture from getting on or people writing in the freshly poured concrete.

What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide: chainsaw, blower, concrete
