This area that has been hotly contested. Ther will be two separate trails will be established. One area will be used for trail, and another section will be used for local private and commercial transportation, which includes horses and buggies, several sawmills with logs delivered by trucks, and wooden products transported from the mills. A vegetated swale and wooden posts will separate the trail from the transportation route of horse and buggy/ motorized vehicle sectors. What will the volunteers do: Volunteers will accomplish the work, including grading the trail bed, establishing stormwater controls, and delineating the area from horse and buggy, private landowners, and commercial traffic. What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide: 1) Rental of earth-moving equipment to clear, grade, and establish stormwater controls. 2) limestone screenings to serve as the trail’s Treadway. 3) two benches, signage, posts/plant seeds to delineate the trail from the other uses Grant funded July 2024 |
