westland Branch montour trailfacilitate the repair and acquisition of a used dump truckWhat is the Project: The two friends groups are seeking to acquire a medium size dump truck (already identified) which is in need of engine repairs to make useable. The funding request is to pay for the engine repairs. What will the volunteers do: The dump truck will be shared by the two friends groups. The dump truck will be used to enhance trail upkeep and improvement, to include brush removal, canopy pruning, surface repair, enhance and expedite the deployment of equipment along sections of the trail maintained by the two friends groups (the two groups are responsible for more than 10 miles of trail), transportation of infrastructure materials, to include fencing and culverts, and facilitate movement of limestone material for patching and surface upgrades. The truck would also be pivotal to efforts to hasten the preparations to open a new branchline closer to the hamlet of Muse, and expand user access to residents in Cecil township. The new challenges posed by maintenance duties for this new trail section can be met more easily and successfully with the availability of this truck.
