James Meyerfix drainage issues, purchase limestone to resurface about 4 miles of trail, and equipment rental,What is the Project: What is the Project? The WPT Council is seeking funds to repair and resurface portions of the Mayer section of trail: 1) Approximately 1/2 mile from turn off of Saltsburg section main trail to tunnel at Elders Run; 2) Approximately 1 mile from Tunnelton Road to Auen Road a) Small section that runs parallel to Tunnelton Road, b) The section from the top of the hill to and including the parking lot on Auen Road; 3) Approx. 3/4 mile from the gate on Auen Road to the wooden bridge on ACOE Conemaugh Dam property; and to 4) resurface the approximately 2 mile Bow Ridge section of trail from the river left side of Conemaugh Dam to the Conemaugh River Lake section. What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide? Approximately 90 tons of limestone, and some equipment rental to spread it. What Will Volunteers Do? Work will include re-grading and widening the trail area, repair of any washout areas, re-directing water routes where needed, and adding a layer of rock dust for resurfacing which will then be rolled and compressed by volunteers for a solid trail surface.
