Mon YoughA zero turn mowerWhat is the Project: MYTC plans to acquire a Zero Turn Mower to supplement MYTC’s mowing fleet in support of additional mowing anticipated at the restroom/pavilion/trail access site in Buena Vista, which was previously the responsibility of others, and the possible replacement of older mowing equipment that is reaching the end of its useful life. New commercial mowing equipment is expected to be more efficient and reliable than the current fleet of smaller residential mowers and older commercial mowing equipment, allowing volunteers to maximize their use of time and also hopefully expand the pool of available volunteers able and willing to use the equipment. From the Mon Yough Newsletter October 2022 This purchase was made possible by a $12,000 grant from the Trail Volunteer Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation. MYTC received the new mower in time for the start of mowing season in Spring 2022, and it was put into service mowing the Greenock- Boston-Deadman’s Hollow section of trail. One feature incorporated in the new mower was a steering wheel instead of guide levers which will hopefully allow more volunteers to make use of this mower. What will the volunteers do: What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide: Grant funded March 2022 |
