Repave about 1300 feet of trail

What is the Project: We propose to conduct a limestone repacking volunteer workshop. During the workshop, we will repair and repack 700 ft. of the crushed limestone trail within Millvale Riverfront Park. The workshop would be one day long and will be held in fall 2021.

We will train volunteers on a variety of topics including drainage, resurfacing limestone trails, and maintaining limestone trails. Specific tasks will be to prep the site location for the limestone, level, taper the edges, and compress the limestone. Volunteers will also assist with detouring trail traffic, and a follow-up a week after the limestone is installed. Our goal for the workshop is to give volunteers the confidence to be able to do the tasks in the future We will also produce a video of the workshop to show to future volunteers and municipal staff who are unable to attend the workshop. Ron Steffey of Steffey Trail Connections has generously offered to volunteer his time to conduct the workshop.
