Repair the crushed limestone surface that was washed away

What is the Project:

What is the Project?

Repair the crushed limestone surface that was washed away from torrential rainfall in the summer and fall of 2019. The rainfall washed out areas of the trail that created ruts and an uneven surface.

MCTA has hired a construction company to clean ditching at four locations and to remove the ruts by grading the trail. The proposal from the Horizon Construction Group is included with this application. MCTA has the funds to pay for the work by the construction company.

What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide?

MCTA is requesting funds for the crushed limestone for the surface of the trail. The cost is $500/truckload and 5 truckloads are needed. The total request is $X,XXX

What Will Volunteers Do?

The crushed limestone will be placed at the trailhead and the MCTA volunteers will transport the limestone, patch the trail and roll the surface. The MCTA volunteers own the proper equipment to complete the work. MCTA acquires funds from the annual membership fees, donations, and grants. The work done by the MCTA volunteers will save a significant amount of money otherwise charged for labor.
