Path of the FloodReplace an undersized culvert (12 in) with a 36 in pipeWhat is the Project: What is the Project? What do you plan to do, how will it benefit the trail system, what tax-exempt organization supports it? The trail was built across the 5.5-acre property owned by CVC as Phase I of park development in 2018. However, a pipe installed to carry intermittent storm runoff under the trail was not large enough. A volunteer is prepared to replace the 12” pipe with a 36” pipe and rebuild this small trail section. . However, CVC’s equipment is not big enough for this project, so we need to rent a larger excavator for him to rework this small trail segment. The project costs are $XXX for one-day equipment rental, $XXX for the pipe and $XXXfor stone to resurface the trail, for a total of $X,XXX.
What are you asking the Fund to provide? Be specific about how much volunteer effort will be involved, compared to the materials you are asking the fund to provide. Two or three days of volunteer effort will be required. On one day, Mr. McCombie and an assistant will excavate the trail with the rented excavator, remove the undersized pipe, place the new, larger pipes and backfill around the new pipes. On the second day, several volunteers using CVC’s smaller backhoe will build a headwall on both ends of the pipe to stabilize the inlet and outlet and will place and compact crushed stone to resurface the trail.
