CorryDesign and manufacture a three-sided Information KioskWhat is the Project: What is the Project? Briefly, what are you planning to do, and how will it benefit the trail system? Impact Corry has secured funding to design and manufacture a three-sided Information Kiosk modeled after the Foxburg Kiosk on the Erie to Pittsburg Trail. We are asking the Trail Volunteer Fund for the money to cover the materials to install the Kiosk. Volunteers will perform all the prep and installation work needed. There are several benefits to this project. Impact Corry is cooperating with the Blue Zone Project and Steffey Trail Connections to increase active transportation and to close the gaps in NWPA. More momentum is being gained to extend the trail from Route 426 to Impact Corry’s Rail Road Property making this a new Trail Head for riders biking north to NY connecting them with the Chautauqua Rails to Trail section of the ETP trail. These projects are stimulating additional discussions, including the railroad, to extend the trail south to the East Branch Trail in Spartansburg, PA. The Information Kiosk will promote the ETP trail, and the local communities along the trail to bikers and visitors. What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide? Be specific about what you're asking the Fund to support and how that fits into the overall project. Give an approximate budget for the project that shows what you’re asking the fund to provide and any other funds you’re planning on. The request is $XXX to cover the materials for the concrete pad and hardware to secure the Kiosk panels. IE. the wood & screws needed to create forms, concrete (2 yards) for the pad, and lag bolts for securing. Base covers are included with the panels. The graphic design work and the panel printing and construction costs have been secured by ECGRA and local matches. No other funding is required at this time for this project. What Will Volunteers Do? Be clear about how much volunteer effort will be involved, along with the value of that effort compared to the materials you are asking the Fund to provide . Volunteers will prep the area for the concrete pad, build the forms, pour and level the concrete. Once it has cured they will assemble and anchor the Kiosk Panels to the pad. Impact Corry has been maintaining this property and will continue to do so. What will the volunteers do: What Are You Asking the Fund to Provide: Grant funded June 2019 |
