Construct benches, picnic table, signs (Eagle Scout project)

What is the Project:

This project supports volunteers in constructing a covered family picnic table beside the trail. This is the first in a planned series of picnic tables in the Westmoreland County section of the trail.

With over 350,000 people using the Great Allegheny Passage annually, there is an increasing need for rest stops with covered tables that offer protection from sun and rain.

This grant from the Trail Volunteer Fund supports the purchase of materials to be used by volunteers to construct a covered picnic table near West Newton.
